Tuition

As a general rule tuition is in the pupil or student’s own home and lasts one hour. Where there is sufficient demand, group tuition (2 – 4 pupils) can take place in the tutor’s home (with a parent/responsible adult present) or at an agreed venue.

Tuition takes place at least once a week. I do not tutor fortnightly.

There is no fee for occasional missed lessons. Prior notice - however short - is nevertheless very much appreciated,  especially where long distances are involved. Otherwise tuition is continuous apart from the usual holiday arrangements.

Both the tutor and the parent reserve the right to withdraw from lessons at any time without formal explanation.

Fees

The fee for each hour of tuition is currently £20.00 per student but will rise to £22.50 from September 2013. This is the first increase for several years and reflects the escalating cost of fuel and the increased price of teaching materials.

Payment is on a pay-as-you-go basis in cash or by cheque. Cheques can be paid on a weekly basis or at the end of each month.

Reduced rates apply  for groups of up to four pupils taught together.

There are no reductions for families, unless children are taught in groups.

Fees are reviewed on an annual basis and parents will be informed of any changes in fees in good time. Changes take effect from September of the year under review.

I am available for tuition from 1.30pm to 9.00pm throughout the week except Wednesdays and Sundays.

For reasons of accessibility I do not tutor in Bere Alston, Bere Ferrers or Torpoint.
